Bombyx is the Kit that lets you raise the famous Silkworms (Bombyx mori).

This experience allows you to closely observe the cocoon spinning and the Silkworm transformation into moth: a unique opportunity to discover all its secrets and learn how one of the oldest and most precious fabrics in the world is made.

Inside the box you’ll find all the necessary (silkworms, feed, breeding containers and instructions) to make the silkworms completing their growth into adults.

Once reached maturity, the silkworms will start spinning their cocoon and you’ll have the chance to enjoy watching them working, day after day, on the realization of their creation.

Bombyx is an excellent gift idea to stimulate curiosity and spirit of observation for people of all ages.

Due to a certain level of intrinsic physiological mortality it may occur that, during the experience, some silkworm does not complete its metamorphosis.

According to our tests on Bombyx we can assume with a good confidence that, following our instructions, at least 3 silkworms will reach the cocoons spinning’s stage.

The average length of the experience is approximately of 35 days and must be activated within 2-3 days from the receipt.

Inside the Bombyx box you will find:

-1 petri dish containing the little silkworms;

-1 cardboard box w/lid for 4^th-5^th instar silkworms rearing;

-1 little bag with 30gr of powder feed;

-1 cooking box;

-1 35 ml measuring cup;

-2 sterile sticks for food handling;

-1 fiberglass small mesh;

-1 cardboard tree for the cocoon spinning;

-1 plastic box for egg laying;

-English Manual instructions for a proper kit handling.
